WHAT IS SCOUT CAGE?

Scout Cage is a new product offered by ProBatter that tests a player's performance using a standard protocol, allowing results to be compared with those of other comparable players to measure their talent level. We call it the SAT of player evaluation because it is a standardized test of a player's performance.

 

There are two versions of Scout Cage: a hitter's version, which will be available to early adopters in the fall of 2025, and the pitcher's version, which will be available in the spring of 2026. Finally, a cloud-based, advanced scouting service called TPSS, or Top Prospect Scouting Service, which captures and stores the data to be accessed by college coaches and pro scouts, will be available in the fall of 2026.

The Hitting version of Scout Cage combines a ProBatter PX3A video pitching simulator capable of throwing virtually any pitch at any speed to any location with a ball tracking device and video recorder. Standardized pitch selections have been created for the various talent levels, e.g., Little League, High School, Collegiate, and Professional. Players in each category are tested against standardized protocols that are tailored to their specific levels. The evaluation session will consist of between 100 and 200 pitches of varying types, speeds, and locations, with the results tabulated, recorded, and a grade assigned. In this way, coaches and scouts can compare hitters against other comparable players to determine their current level of performance and ability to advance to the next level.
